Water Park and Mud Pies

When the girls are older, I hope they will look back on days like today and smile. What could be better to a three-year-old than going to the water park and then making mud pies in the backyard?

After waiting at home this morning for 3 long hours, the water park finally opened and we got ready to leave. By the time I slathered us all up with sunscreen, wrestled each of them into their suits and walked out to the car with 2 bags, a baby carrier, a baby and a giant turtle, I was wondering if it was going to be worth it. Madelyn absolutely loved the water and her giant floating turtle. She was kicking her feet and paddling all over the pool. Gracie was disappointed that the train slide was not open but had fun wading in the pool and playing on a different slide.

Later that day when Gracie was making mud pies in the almost 100 degree weather, she came to the door and said, very seriously, "Mommy, I think I need a jacket!" I guess we need to do some lessons on seasonal clothing!
