A Kindred Spirit

I love Anne of Green Gables. What Anne wanted more than anything was to find a kindred spirit, a bosom friend of her very own. God has blessed me with some wonderful friends! Some are back in Illinois, and some friendships are developing here in Arizona. But what I am discovering as I get older is that I have a friend, a kindred spirit, who knows me better than anyone. A friend who knows my heart. A friend who knows what I need. A friend who is always available to talk. A friend who never lets me down. A friend who desires a close relationship with me. Of course, I am talking about the Lord!

So on days when I miss my friends very much and I feel lonely, I turn to God for comfort. And you know what? When I open my Bible and turn to a devotional or scripture, it is always something I need to hear. God is a friend who knows me better than I know myself. He is a true kindred spirit.

Favorite Moments

Making a fishing pole with Gracie with a ruler, some yarn and a magnet. We used paper clips as our fish. She loves it!

Making a yummy cherry crisp recipe with yellow cake on top! I think it is one of my new favorite desserts.

Going to the library. I just love libraries!

French toast for breakfast

Watching the girls play in their little pool

Listening to Madelyn babble to Gracie and Jim. She loves to talk to them.
