Picking My Battles

The last few days, I have been telling Gracie to stop acting like a three-year-old. She has been testing me and pushing my buttons, something she loves to do. Today, I finally decided I have to pick my battles. I was tempted today to tell her she had to wash her hands in her sink when she really wanted to wash in ours. And I mentioned to her that her underwear was on backwards and was going to force her to fix it when she could have cared less. I decided to bite my tongue and realize that those things were so insignificant in the big picture. So she wore her underwear backwards all afternoon and washed her hands in our sink instead of hers. She was happy, and I was just glad that she was choosing underwear over a diaper and washing her hands!
